ABOUT US

Spiruline Corporation Ltd was founded in January 2016. We produce approximately 5 tons of spirulina per year. Our farm uses best management practices to certify the high quality of our product. We are currently the only commercial grower of spirulina in Rwanda. Please contact us to buy or distribute our product.

WHAT IS SPIRULINA?

Spirulina is a blue-green algae that grows naturally in warm, fresh water-bodies around the world and is also harvested commercially. Spirulina is 50-75% protein by weight, including all essential amino acids, 15-30% carbohydrates, and 5-10% fat. There are about 30 calories in 10g of spirulina. Spirulina is packed with protein and amino acids including the essential fatty acid gamma linolenic acids (GLA), omega 3, 6, and 9s, chlorophyll, iron, vitamins B-1(thiamine), B-2 (riboflavin), B-3(nicotinamide), B-6 (pyridoxine), B-9 (folic acid), vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin A and vitamin E. It is also a source of potassium, calcium, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, sodium and zinc.
